Lamborghini Aventador by ASMA Design

German tuner ASMA Design rarely makes the headlines, but when it does, they make some serious waves, for better or worse.

Their latest offering to the tuning gods - a program for the Lamborghini Aventador - is another eyebrow-raiser, and if we do say so ourselves, we actually dig it!
Now, the program is far from finished as ASMA has only released a single teaser image of the car. But between the generous doses of carbon fiber on the aero kit and the rather intense-looking wheels, not to mention the huge rear wing, we’re actually looking forward to seeing the finished program for the Aventador.

Now it doesn’t mean that we’re all in on it because we’ve yet to see the front end, but judging from the teaser image they showed - and the subsequent promise of a performance upgrade - we’re crossing our fingers that the German tuner has a winner on their hands with their new Aventador program.

2012 Lamborghini Gallardo Review ,Specs and Photos

The Lamborghini Gallardo is an Italian high-performance exotic supercar. Joining the all-wheel drive LP560-4 coupe and Spyder (convertible) and LP570-4 Superleggara and the rear-wheel drive LP550-2 base coupe are the all-wheel drive LP570-4 Blancpain coupe and Performante Spyder and the rear-wheel drive LP550-2 Bicolore.
The full-time all-wheel drive Gallardo LP560-4 is powered by a 552 horsepower direct-injected 5.2-liter V10 controlled by a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional sequential six-speed 'E-gear' transmission. The LP570-4 Superleggara, Performante and Blancpain use the same engine but horsepower is bumped up to 562, and the E-gear transmission is standard.
The base LP550-2 and Bicolore have slightly less horsepower at 543, but the deletion of the all-wheel drive system saves almost 300 pounds, and the driveline and suspension are thoroughly tuned and revised for rear-wheel drive dynamics. With a focus on weight loss, the LP570-4 Superleggara features exterior and interior carbon fiber body components, forged alloy wheels and Alcantara sport seats with carbon fiber shells, and exterior modifications, including a remodeled front bumper, are all directed at increasing aerodynamic effects and increasing the supply of cooling air.
The Blancpain adds matte black paint, carbon ceramic brakes, Skorpius wheels, rear wing spoiler, and yellow stitching accents. The Perfomante is basically a convertible version of the Superleggara. The Bicolore features an exclusive two-tone finish with matching interior, Skorpius forged alloy wheels, and a tempered glass engine hood. A navigation system and rear view parking camera are available. Optional (standard on the Blancpain) light-weight carbon ceramic brakes offer superior durability and reduce brake fade, where the brakes become less effective due to overheating in extremely demanding conditions such as racing. Other options include Alcantara interior trim and a variety of wheel designs and colors.

The Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain coupe, LP570-4 Performante Spyder and LP550-2 Bicolore trims are new for 2012.

2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4

2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Photos
2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Review
The long-awaited replacement for the top end Lamborghini Murcielago has finally broken cover. Introducing the even more vicious and beautiful Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. Carrying over several significant design elements from the limited edition Reventon, the all-carbon fiber bodied Aventador boasts a ferocious 6500cc V12 engine that snorts out 700 hp and 479 lb feet of torque. That colossal power is sent to all four wheels, allowing the bull to reach 60 in less than 3 seconds and max out at a face-warping 217 mph. Power is nothing, though, without adequate middle management.

To this end, the V12 is connected to an all-new seven speed automated manual, known as the Lamborghini Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) that moves from one gear to the next nearly simultaneously, providing lightning fast 50 millisecond shifts. Stopping is bolstered by massive 380mm carbon ceramic brakes, six-piston fronts and four-piston rears. This range topper also benefits from a 500 pound weight drop over its predecessor due to a carbon fiber chassis and an increased rigidity of 70%, which should prove a boon for the handling.

One feature that we feel should show up on every low-slung supercar is the Aventador’s unique hydraulic chin-lifter, raising the front of the car by 40mm at the touch of a button, so you don’t embarrass yourself next time you exit the drive-thru at Bob’s Big Boy. With the Aventador, the carmaker from Sant’Agata effectively takes its flagship into the 21st century of supercars.
2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Price
The technology, design and the performance should be nothing short of astounding. Estimated price? A whopping $350,000.

New Lamborghini Aventador Revealed

New Lamborghini Aventador Photo

It's big, it's loud and it's very orange: the successor to the Lamborghini Murcielago has finally broken cover at the Geneva motor show, and it is thus... behold, the Aventador.
First, the name. It continues the firm's long association with famous cheeseburger meats, and Aventador was the name of a ‘particularly courageous' bull that fought a tightly-clothed humanoid in 1993 at the Saragossa Arena, earning the ‘Trofeo de la Pena La Madronera'.As you know, the Aventador sports an all-new 6.5-litre V12 engine weighing in at just 235kg which produces 700bhp, 509lb ft and the ability to transport the carbon-fibre bodied, scissor-doored supercar from 0-62mph in just 2.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 217mph. Since you're asking, the whole thing weighs 1,575kg - lean, for a two-door instrument of shouty oversteer. The Aventador gets Lambo's new ISR transmission, claimed to be faster and ‘more emotional' than a dual-clutch system. We hope ‘emotional' doesn't refer to randomly breaking out into Opera or weeping hysterically at traffic lights. Those 700 horses trumpet through the box to all four wheels with an electronically controlled Haldex coupling distributing forces front and rear.
It comes with three driving modes adjusting engine, transmission, diff, steering and dynamic control, and they are ‘Strada' (road), Sport and ‘Corsa' (track). The pushrod suspension - inspired by F1 - is married to aluminium double wishbones and carbon-fibre ceramic brakes, keeping everything light and fighty.
The innards get swathed in ‘premium' materials and a TFT LCD screen akin to a ‘modern airplane', while you can choose from 13 exterior paint colours. If you need to be told, in a Lambo, the brighter the better...
Prices start at £201,900 with first deliveries beginning later this year.

2012 AC Schnitzer BMW 1-Series M Coupe

With all the tuning programs being added to the BMW 1-Series M Coupe, it seemed a little odd that AC Schnitzer - one of the best BMW tuners on the planet - still hadn’t come out with anything for the baby M. Turns out, they were just waiting for the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show to introduce their first project for the 1-Series M Coupe.
Well, Frankfurt has come and we finally have an idea on the aftermarket work AC Schnitzer did on the 1-Series M Coupe. Their new package has a mix of just about everything you can look for in a tuning program. Aerodynamic additions offer plenty of stylized improvements while performance and handling modifications ratcheted up the car’s already impressive powertrain and suspension set-up.
There’s a lot to love about AC Schnitzer’s first take on the 1-Series M Coupe. Kind of makes us think long and hard on if it’s going to be worth our hard-earned money.
